Myla, November 28, 2008November 29, 2008

I photographed my fellow Grant Park neighbor Julie’s little girl Myla in late Fall and she was just a ball of energy! She was running around Grant Park with boundless amounts of energy and I was running right behind. I was able to catch some really sweet moments when she picked up a leaf and I just loved them–here are my 3 favorites.

Michelle and Oshine, Atlanta, GA November 15, 2008November 16, 2008

Michelle and Oshine are just about the best couple ever–super laid back and ridiculously talented at the same time. Michelle is an incredibly gifted designer who has an amazing eye for just about any wonderful design detail that you could think of and her blog is just crazy inspiring with all kinds of wonderful little finds that she spies. If you get a chance, stop by her blog, armas design and check it out!

Their wedding actually took place at Joel in Buckhead and since it was such a small intimate affair, we decided to meet up a couple of days after the wedding and do a post wedding photo shoot in Grant Park, and it was perfect. The day was beautiful and we met up a little later in the afternoon so that we could get some beautiful light and the pictures turned out amazing. Here are a few from that shoot.

Lindsay and Daniel, Warrenton, GA October 25, 2008October 26, 2008

Lindsay and Daniel’s wedding was on a perfect day in Warrenton, Ga which is about as quaint as it gets. The reception was in Lindsay’s family house about literally 100 feet from the church and it was a small wonderful ceremony with about 50 people. Her dad’s house was just full of character and we got some really cool shots upstairs where there was some old furniture and windows and the evening light was just pouring in. Everything was so intimate and beautiful and I had such a good time. This ended up being a long post, because there was just a lot of beautiful moments.

Amy and William, Charleston, SC, October 11, 2008October 12, 2008

Amy and William’s wedding was fabulous, because I got to go home to Charleston, which is always fun for me. That is where I grew up and where my family lives and the granparents always love an excuse for me to bring their grandson to them. In fact, Amy and William got married at the Boone Halle Plantation docks, which is quite literally a stones throw from my mother’s house which I could see while they were getting married!

They could not be a nicer more genuine couple, and since Amy is an officer in the army and was shipping out to Iraq at Christmas, it made us want to capture every moment, so that she could have warm memories while she was so far away. I have added some portraits from around Boone Hall, and also a few from the ceremony, where it literally changed from overcast, but bright, to literally completely dark and beautifully purple in the span of about 15 minutes. It was really cool.

Amy is at the moment stationed over in Iraq for a year, and we wish her luck and a safe return home.

Lucy and Tom, Chicago, IL July 26, 2008July 27, 2008

I was back in the Windy City for Lucy and Tom’s wedding, and it was one of the best weddings that I have almost ever shot. They were such a great couple–they both live in LA and Tom is the warm up for the Ellen Degeneres show, so it was a very fun time during our portrait session after the ceremony. There was so much family at the wedding as well–Lucy is one of 13 kids, so it was like a huge family reunion, and the reception was so much fun. There was a video with commentary by Henry Winkler, “The Fonz”, and then they were introduced by video by Ellen, and then after their first dance, they went into a crazy karaoke version of “Living on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi. The entire day was just a ton of fun, and there were so many great shots that I had a hard time editing them down. I am only including a few in the blog, because I ended up featuring it on the website, so there are a lot more images on that section of the website if you would like to view more from this wedding.
